Ferraris Country House Wedding Photographer captures same sex marriage in the Ribble ValleyWedding Photographer captures the wedding of Lisa & Sheena at Lancashire Wedding Venue Ferraris Country House
Ferraris Country House Wedding Photographer // Lisa & Sheena
I was lucky enough to be selected as the Wedding Photographer at Ferraris for Lisa & Sheenas Wedding. The beautiful Ferraris country house hotel is situated in the Ribble Valley village of Thornley near Preston. The hotel is run by the Ferrari family giving it that truly personal touch.
You will find Ferrari’s Country House Wedding Hotel and Restaurant set back from the road down a secluded and picturesque driveway, a mile and a half outside the charming village of Longridge in Lancashire. The family acquired Ferrari’s Country House Wedding Hotel and Restaurant in July 1995 and in such a short period, they have created one of the most popular and acclaimed wedding venues in the North West of England.
The property was previously named Blackmoss House and was built by the Earl of Derby in around 1830. The house was originally used as a shooting lodge and was part of Derby Estates until the late 1970s. Set in four and a half acres of mature walled gardens, the hotel and restaurant are truly beautiful and picture perfect for your wedding day.
Ribble Valley Wedding
Lisa and Sheena chose to have their same sex marriage at Ferraris because of the surrounding beautiful scenery and walled gardens. The day started out with bridal preparations in the adjoining cottages and hotel rooms. The cottages allowed for beautiful natural light wedding dress photographs and images of the bouquet.
The ushers arrived ready to go with the usual button hole tasks being given to the best man to figure out how to pin them on! The ceremony was in the conservatory again allowing perfect lighting from the ceiling high windows, perfect for showing the subtle purples and ivory’s in the colour theme.
The bridesmaid looked splendid as they walked down the aisle with the flower girls towards the altar with a band playing a nice musical piece in the background. Once the ceremony was over we headed into the gardens for the bridal portraits taking into account the great views across the Ribble Valley hills.
I photographed the finer details including the shoes outdoors on the stone feature walls to create very personal images for the couple. The wedding breakfast was served in the main function room where I was treated to a fantastic meal alongside the guests, this great vantage point of a guests eye view from the tables means I can capture more of the fun and laughter throughout the meal.
Same Sex Marriage at Ferraris
After the speeches were conducted we headed outside to use create some perfect low light sunset photographs with OCF (Off Camera Flash.) I always carry an array of lighting equipment, filters, softboxes and light stands to weddings in the event of capturing images like this!
