Liverpool Photographer Styled Fashion Shoot at Top Wedding Venue – The Titanic Hotel, Liverpool.
The Titanic Hotel is one of the most iconic hotels in Liverpool. Although new in age its significance to Liverpool is huge not only due to its name but the building in which its situated has major historic connections.
The setting is on the Dock Road linking Liverpool with Bootle and onto Crosby & Southport. The old building used to be a huge warehouse which has now been completely overhauled and turned into one of the best wedding and function venues in the city. Its industrial look has not been lost throughout the building with plenty of features being kept or enhanced with a White Star theme to match the Titanic Ship.
Along with a complete replica of the Titanic Staircase down to the beautiful rustic signage we chose the Titanic Hotel for our fashion & dress shoot venue as it was the perfect backdrop for us to display the dresses with our model Kate.
Taking our bags, light stands and equipment we utilised the Spa in the basement of the building as our base for the morning and even bumped into the Sunderland Football team who were preparing to take on Liverpool at a 3pm match later that day (Liverpool Won!)
We started our shoot in dress one of 4 in the VIP lounge, this gave us the perfect opportunity to use natural light which was streaming through the windows and doors along with using the off camera flashes to help fill shadows.
We popped into a couple of the hotel rooms which were also decorated with the White Star Theme. They were lit by large windows and were perfect for our make up artist Hannah to complete Kates make up. They were all perfect bridal preparation suites. The size and brightness of each room would make getting into wedding dresses or having lots of bridesmaids running around easy.
After a few different shots we managed to finish off the shoot in the very industrial concrete and brick staircase at the heart of the building using again the natural light and spiral effect of the staircase to create some stunning photographs.
I am looking forward to working at this venue again next year for a busy wedding diary!
